Delhi University UG Admissions 2021:
CBSE and ICSE have canceled 12th examinations. Haryana has also canceled class 12 board exam. Many other state boards are also now preparing to cancel the 12th examination on the footsteps of the center. Along with this, the preparation for UG Admissions 2021 in university, colleges is starting.
Delhi University (DU), which is the top priority for most CBSE students, has given information about this year’s undergraduate admissions.
Will CUCET implement this year in Delhi University?
According to the proposal sent by the UGC last year, CUCET was to be conducted from this year for UG admission in Delhi University. Under this, it was said to give 50% weightage to the 12th marks and 50% weightage to the marks obtained in CUCET.
DU’s acting VC PC Joshi included in the committee formed by the central government to consider this. Now DU says that it is not possible to conduct this exam this year in the time of the pandemic.
How will the cut-offs decide in DU Admission 2021?
PC Joshi, acting VC of Delhi University also said that ‘We are with the Government of India. This year our Admission Criteria will be completely based on 12th Merit. We will respect the marking criteria of all the boards including CBSE. This decision in view of the situation of Covid.
DU admission chairperson Rajeev Gupta has also told the media that ‘whatever formula CBSE adopts, eventually they will release the results. DU will also announce its cut-off on the basis of the same result.
When will DU admission start in 2021?
According to the DU Admission Chairperson, Delhi University attracts students from all over the country. Some state boards will release the result in July and some may do so in August also.
In such a situation, there may be a delay in starting the DU admission process (DU Admission 2021).
There will be contactless admissions this year too in DU
Acting VC of DU said, “There were contactless admissions last year. We are going to implement the same process this year also, but the basis of admission will be merit only.
The merit of a student can not be measured only on the basis of the marks obtained in the board examination, so CUCET consider and we will continue to move in this direction. But it is not yet decided whether it will implement this year or not.
