Delhi University (DU) is likely to start the admission process in various Undergraduate (UG) courses for the academic session 2021-22 in July. DU Admission Chairman Rajiv Gupta said that in view of the Corona virus crisis, the entire admission process of DU will be online and sufficient time will be given to the candidates to complete the formalities.
Announcing the tentative date for admission to DU, Gupta said there are around 70,000 seats for UG courses in 60 colleges affiliated to DU. He informed that the admission process will start after the declaration of class 12 results by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and state boards. Under normal circumstances, DU also conducts entrance exams for admission to nine UG courses.
National Testing Agency will conduct entrance exam
The entrance exams are conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The University of Delhi has said that it will complete the admission process without compromising on merit, despite the exceptional circumstances. Central University Common Entrance Test can be a good method for this. Delhi University’s acting VC PC Joshi also said that we are with the government’s decision.
Admission Criteria on the basis of 12th Merit
He said that this year our admission criteria will be completely based on the merit of class 12th. We will follow the marking criteria of all the boards including CBSE. This extraordinary situation has arisen due to corona infection.
DU Admission Chairperson said that students from all over the country come to Delhi University. Some state boards will release the result in July and some may do so in August also. In such a situation, the admission process of DU can start late.
Rajeev Gupta told that whatever formula CBSE makes, but the result will be released. DU will announce its cut off on the basis of result only.
