IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) has launched Master’s Degree Program (MA FCS) in Folklore and Culture Studies. It will operate under the School of Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary.
The MA FCS course will be of two years. but you can complete it in maximum four years. This course is currently available only in English medium.
This can be done by students who have graduated from any faculty.

After completing of course these are employment
The aim of this course is to understand the relationship between folk culture and literature, history, sociology, anthropology, focal studies. In the coming times, faculty will be an area of research and education.
After completing the course, colleges, universities, libraries, research, archives, culture councils, national centers of arts, state government institutions, film industry and TV channels can be connected. Folk artists are in high demand here.
The full course will be of 64 credits
The MA FCS course will total 64 credits. There will be 32-32 credits in the first and second year. The entire course will be divided into nine topics.
Focal and Culture: Conceptual Perspective 6 credits, Tradition, Identity and Cultural Production – 6 credits, Cultural and Social Transformation – 6 credits, Tribes of India: Identity, Culture and Law – 6 credits, Project Manual – 8 credits, Focalor: Cannon , Multimedia, Interdisciplinarity and Social Epistemology – 8 credits, Theory and Pedagogy of Folcore – 8 credits, Folk Representation – 8 credits, Approach to Folcore – 8 credits.
